Joseph needs to find the quotient of 3.216 ÷8. In what place is the first digit in the quotient?

If you do long division you will see that 8 cannot go into 3 it will go into 3.2 so the first digit will be in the tenths place 0.4... no need to finish the division since all the question asks is the place of the first digit
