Odds is the ratio of favourable outcomes to non-favourable outcomes:

Let:

P = probability of an event occurring = 6/7

Q = probability of the event not occurring = 1 - P = 1 - 6/7 = 1/7

Therefore, the odds will be:

[tex]\frac{P}{Q}=\frac{\frac{6}{7}}{\frac{1}{7}}=6[/tex]
